After market research the committee for Gt. Barton Film Night was formed in October 2007 and after a period of training and guidance from the Suffolk Digital Cinema Network we began showing films in Gt. Barton Village Hall in December of that year.
Initially our films were shown using digital equipment loaned free of charge by Suffolk Digital Cinema Network. After a few months we set out to acquire our own equipment and after a generous donation from The Grand Order of Water Rats and a grant from the Awards for All committee of the National Lottery we began to show films using our own equipment in September 2008.
Our equipment is available for the use of other village organisations under our supervision.
We show films on the third Saturday of every month excluding August and December.
Our ticket prices are £4.00 for adults and £2.50 for under 16s.
Doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start. Also available are tea, coffee, biscuits and the very popular ice creams from Elm Valley Foods.
We are not a club and attendance at any of our film shows is open to all. We are pleased to see new faces and will warmly welcome all to what is a social event and not just a film show.
Tickets may be booked in advance from Maggie Redshaw on 01284 788397
